Why the first Sfinco Guide starts with iPhone Protection

Of everything Sfinco could have written about first, an iPhone book seemed the obvious place to start. Here's the actual reasoning.

Two hands holding two smartphones.

When planning the Sfinco Guides series, the natural instinct was to start somewhere foundational, passwords, or general online safety. Instead, Volume 1 is entirely about the iPhone. That wasn't an accident.

It's the device people already trust

For a lot of Sfinco's audience, the iPhone isn't just a phone, it's the banking app, the photo album, the way they talk to their kids and grandkids. A book about "cyber security" in the abstract is easy to put down. A book about the exact device in someone's hand is much harder to ignore.

Nobody reads a general safety guide from cover to cover. Everybody checks a setting on the phone in their pocket.

It teaches the habit, not just the device

Once someone has gone through checking their passcode, their Apple ID, and their app permissions on their iPhone, the same underlying habits transfer easily to a Mac, an Android phone, or a work laptop, which is exactly where the rest of the series is heading.

What's next

MacBook Protection is planned as Volume 2, following the same format: plain English, one device, settings worth checking and why they matter.
